Sanctuary Night Concentrate, my current night cream

Hello everyone,

With the cold weather around, my skin tends to feel tight and uncomfortable, so I was looking for a heavier than usual night cream, and while browsing the Boots aisles (yes, I do that a lot, it is a disease), I saw Sanctuary had a night concentrate in sample format. A 10ml squeezy tube, pink body and white lid, costing only €3 it is just the perfect way to test a product out without committing to the big one. Continue reading

Battle of the Urban Decay Primer Potions, Eden v. Original

Hello everyone,

Most of the time, I do not apply eyeshadow primers during the day, as I mainly use the Naked Palette and it fares very well on its own. For night time however, I want my eyeshadows to look intense and to stay put for the whole night. The most well known of eyeshadows primers is the Urban Decay Primer Potion, you apply a tiny bit on your eyelids and blend before applying your eye make up, and it ensures you will not end up with your eyeshadow creasing or getting places you do not want it to go. It now exist in a variety of colours, and since I am a firm fan of the Original one, I was wondering how would Eden compare (both samples were sold together with eyeshadows palettes). Botanics Facial Loofah, an alternative usage

Hello everyone,

Before I knew better, I went through a phase of heavy and extreme exfolation, in the misguided belief that the harder I would exfoliate, the better my skin would look. Big mistake, as I now know. During that phase, I bought some facial loofah (yes, you can recoil in horror, I do it too now!) Continue reading

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipmarkers, a fun and easy way to stain your lips!

Hello everyone!

What do you think of lip stain? I do like them, the natural results, coloured lips with none of the thickness or stickiness that comes with lipstick. What I do not like however is how fussy it is to apply: coming in liquid form, it often needs to be applied with a nail polish type of brush and a very steady hand.

Maybelline came out with their own take on lip stains, but this time, it is in the shape of a lipmarker, chubby pens with a large tip. Interested by the concept, I bought two of them and went back home to play Continue reading

Murad Skin Perfecting Primer, where were you all that time?

Hello everyone,

Maybe the only interesting product out of last month’s GlossyBox (to read my thoughts on this box, click here), I can say I really like this primer. The sample I received was a 5ml pump, and although I only rarely use primer on my face this one got me interested with its promises of dewy finish.

Boots Nail Polish Remover Pads, a little revolution (plus some red shoes)

Hello everyone!

There is always something I forget to bring when I am travelling, and that something is nail polish remover. I systematically bring a bottle of polish for touch ups, but always end up having to buy a bottle of remover when I arrive at destination (or rather, when I want to redo my nails and realise I do not have anything to remove the old polish). But it will change now, thanks to a brilliant Boots offering: polish remover pads.

Old school glamour with Body Shop The Sparkler

Hello everyone!

You know hoe it is sometimes: you walk in a shop, see a product and you instantly fall in love with it. That’s what happened to me the last time I was in The Body Shop. I originally walked in to have my eyebrows threated (I do that every six months to reshape them, the rest of the time I pluck the strays) and once it was done and I had seen my bright red brow bone, I wanted something to cheer me up. My eyes fell on a bottle of The Sparkler, and it was love at first sight. A thick glass bottle with a soft pink puffer, it looks like one of the vintage perfume bottles my grandmother used and that I was admiring from afar when I was a little girl. It also made me think of these old movies, with glamorous actresses spraying themselves in perfume. Continue reading
